Norma endured some hardship in her life when it came to husbands. Her first husband, Larry Alexander, died of polio after spending a long time in an iron lung. Her second husband, Alexander Robichek, died of cancer after a long battle. After her second marriage, Norma wrote a book called Solitude Summer 1980, in which she expressed her deepest feelings at the thought of being alone in her life once again. Fortunately, it wasn't too long after Alexander Robichek died that Norma met Sylvan Winocur, the man with whom she spent the last 20+ years of her life.
